I remember reserving a copy of Self-titled Album on best buy's website and thinking to myself what to expect... Now when i Got the CD in the mail, i immediately inserted it in my 360 and my mind was blown, those 13 tracks from No one Loves me... to Spinning in the Daffodils were at first hard to grasp but after time... was my only main source of music to listen to at the time... To this day i listen to the album almost every day which is a must to start the day.. i don't have a favorite cause all is freaking amazing... I am Looking forward to their next studio album... This Album is a Must own if you are a fanatic of QOTSA, Led Zeppelin, and the Foo Fighters...

Discovered TCV on austin city limits a little while back on pbs. it was very heavy and left me haunted with couriosity for what else there was. I got on itunes and downloaded it asap. my mind felt so inriched with a fresh sound that washed the gunk and tar left in my audio backlog from the recent "made for the masses" poop music a am forced to sift through to find such gems as this. I love reptiles and no one loves me and niether do i. Also gunman. Hard hitting riffs and lyrics that leave you wanting become an edgar allan poe all myself. cant wait for your next set of track. A show somewhere near lubbock Tx, would be the bee's knees.

Them crooked vultures is the new-old greatest band in last decade... I´m from Mexico, here, the rock bands are so bored and meningless... only bands like Them crooked vultures lights the way of the good taste.........

Wow, when I first listened to the album.. My mind f***in' exploded!
It's perfect! Can't want for the follow-up.. Rock on b****es!

If you think about it, the guys in this band have over a century of combined musical talent or something close to it which is Amazing. I love this band and since the purchase of the album, I have listened to it 100 times over. I even wrote an paper about them in my English 2 class.

OMG!!!
This is by far the best album I've ever heard. I really love QOTSA and would easily have said they were my favorite band before I finally picked this album up. I forget who said it first but it definitely gets better the more you listen. There are so many subtleties in every song that most people wouldn't even care to listen for. Of course that's just typical Josh Homme style imho. Josh, you are probably the greatest unsung hero of modern rock and most certainly a hero of mine. I love the fact that you don't let crap like that go to your head. Its absolutely clear that for you it's purely about making music for music's sake and for the sake of humanity, DON'T EVER STOP DOING WHAT YOU DO!!

BTW, I noticed you guys haven't played in Canada at all and I wonder why that is. Please!!! Consider making a stop or two up here! Particularly in Montreal or Ottawa which would be freakin' awesome!

Rock on guys! Keep it comin'!

Only one word to describe, Wow! I can proudly say here that it is the first album ever that i listen and like more than 3/4 of its content. Its sad that music television shows don't market more with them because if one band can turn around the age of the auto-tune music, its Them Crooked Vultures.I'm scared that if they do a new album (and i hope they will), people will critique it like a descent album because they had huge expection due to the massive godness of the first album, so i think its better that TCV take they're time and come out with a revolutionary monster album.

PS : you can't download torrents of Them Crooked vultures... Just buy the album!

Lou

Great album. Kind of bluesy. Great weekend morning hangovermusic. And great to listen when driving alone in the countryside. I love it man!

The album is awesome! Since everyone is asking you to tour in their neigborhood I'm gonna give it a shot and hope you guys can make it down here some day. I was unable to make it to some cool concerts 'cause I got knocked up. But I'm not anymore! So if you can please try & come down either to Southern California or somewhere in Phoenix, AZ ('cause I live in between) I would love it. I love your music & I hope I could see you guys 'live' someday.

WHOA, I'm waitin' 4 the next albumn. I love your sound, especially 'Scumbag Blues', Mind Eraser No Chaser' and 'Spinning in The Daffodils'

I've been waiting for something refreshing to come along in the music world, & Them Crooked Vultures, along with The Dead Weather, have done just that. If this group decided to leave their repective bands(Foo Fighters & Queens Of The Stone Age), they could/would go down in history as one of the best bands ever. I seriously think that would happen. All the elements are there(talent/songs/musicianship/great live unit) to achieve the forementioned. This album/cd grows on you. It gets better & better with every listen! I had the pleasure of seeing Them Crooked Vultures back in May at The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, & they are definitely the best live band I've ever seen, & I've seen my share of good ones. With the exception of "Interlude With Ludes", which is made for a live setting, every song is top notch. This album can easily compete with the best albums rock music has seen, & I mean that sincerely. I can't wait until the second album/cd comes out.

I just wanted to say, "Thank you Dave for the brilliant idea!" Best technical album in decades. The entire album is so complete. No wonder you had a hard time picking the songs. I can't wait to hear the other tracks that were left off the album. I will buy the second album immediately, and look forward to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. You are correct to say, "We have not even scratched the surface of this band."

2009- I moved back to Nashville and picked up the local rag to find out what bands were playing the Nashville scene. I saw TCV were playing. I said to myself, "Who the f**k is TCV?" and dismissed the show completely. I am still kicking myself in the a** for missing that show. I look forward to the second go around and will not miss it.

Please restock the swag for the US market!

Finally, I had to stop listening to TCV as my morning alarm clock play list because I kept sleeping through the entire album. The music is so soothing that I just want to keep listening. I had to go back to Elton John because I know that I will get up and shut that off. LOL!

Keep up the great work! Thank you JPJ, Josh, Dave, Alain, Alan, Justin, Chris, Brian, and Mike. Best album in decades!
Sincerely,
NDH

You guys are singlehandedly keeping badass, thematically rich, complex, and hard-driving rock alive. Thank you.

For the sake of mankind, please, DON'T STOP JAMING.

I <3 you!

Amazing as hell, great drums, incredible bass, amazing guitar and vocals, clever lyrics, not to mention the undeniable cool factor these guys have, cant wait for a second album.

Real rock played by real rock stars. Forget about what Mtv told you was cool this week and go buy this album. Thanks for the combined decades of wonderful music guys. I cant imagine a world without Zeppelin, Foo, QOTSA, or TCV. once again, THANK YOU and come to Detroit or Chicago soon.

finally norway i can,t wait for tcv to play at hove its gone be f***ing amazing

This album is INSANE!!!! Seriously, my ears very nearly s*** themselves out of excitement... even my one year old kid is digging it! TCV need to come down to Australia soon.... we love you guys down here!

I forgot to say how I began to hear rock music. Firstly, my father played bass in a band and so is my neighbor bassist in a band called Mnemic in knows maybe it is not as well known as you. one day, my mom bought foo fighters echo, silence, patience and grace. I was crazy about it and began to buy more boards in particular greatest hits. some time after the fotalte of nirvana as Dave Grohl played drums in. some time after I saw that in the game to a festival called roskilde festival which took place in Denmark and first I thought it was foo fighters when I saw Dave Grohl but then I saw also you others and so I sought at you lays on youtube appeared in were good and then bought your album and it turned out that the game was good. affectionate greeting Thor from Denmark.

hi my name is Thor and I'm from a small country called Denmark in the north eropa I know you most of Dave Grohl from the foo fighters / nirvana. I'm only ten years and goes into the third class I is the only one from my class who has long hair and hear your music. i is the best I've ever heard. affectionate greeting Thor from Denmark. ps I sit and hear your music while I write it here

Oh God Damn it! Something new for me to worship, you guys! I know Videos are expensive to make but, please make one for Bandoliers. I imagine a cheap stick figure cartoony world like that which we used to scribble of stick figure army guys shooting Godzilla off the top of a building. Except this time Godzilla lives in the woods and is a peaceful veggy eater. Then the nearby city's politicians need something for the people to rally about, so they blame all of lifes problems of Godzy. So they "Aim and Fire" take her out. Which leads up to all the baby Godzy's and the forest creatures to act revenge on the city folk. F ing them up to the point where are no more shells or bullets to fire, (quick silence in the song) as to when the head politician says "fire at will" now firing live volentiers at the Godzy's loosing the battle sorrily.

Wow glad to get all that out of my head and out onto the world. Either way love the music and please keep it coming and COME TO DC (Dave Grohl) and do a show, maybe the Black Cat, haha.

What an amazing s***f***! Please come to Arkansas or a bordering state. I'm out of f***ing gas money....

I absolutely love the spirit of TCV's songs. I bought the album, and I love it. TCV is on up there with Metallica Smile.
TCV is number 2 on the list, I love 'em.

I would like to start out by saying HOLY s***!!!!!!! Thank you.

This album is crazy insane, wicked awesome. I am itching in my chair waiting for news on another album.

Being a musician for a while myself, I often questioned if there could be a new sound in rock that I had never heard. Them Crooked Vultures make that sound. It has everything to do with these three gentlemen getting together , but also being themselves as individuals and musicians. Let's enjoy it while it lasts! Thanks guys!

Elephants

Absoloutly immense, i love josh hommes intro, i like the lyrics, who wrote those, anywho, how come i see no advertising, you guys should get the word out, i love the music though i await the next traks

Dave Grohl takes his Foo Fighters laden guitar off and puts the Nirvana drum sticks back in hand to put together an awesome super group trio consisting not only the main driver for QOTSA, but also the main rhythm for Led Zeppelin. The album opens up with “No One Loves Me And Neither Do I” which delivers a magnificent PUNCH in the middle of the song and takes the listener by surprise. “Scumbag Blues” and “Warsaw Or The First Breath You Take After You Give Up” sounds like Cream on steroids (except for that strange Oysterhead-like psychedelic change during the last half of “Warsaw…”). “Caligulove“ sounds like it could be the B-Side to Iron Butterfly‘s “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.” “Dead End Friends“ sounds like something Robert Plant could have either sung or covered. “Elephants“ starts off with a guitar lick that sounds like something from Led Zeppelin‘s Houses Of The Holy album and has a change in the song that is similar to the change in Led Zeppelin‘s “Kashmir” where Robert Plant starts to sing “..All I see turns to Brown…” “Bandoilers“ has some 60‘s classic rock influences and a diligent resemblance in the vocal mumblings that could be very well Kurt Cobained and a change in the song that sounds like the drumming from Led Zeppelin‘s “Achilles’ Last Stand.” “Reptiles“ sounds like an Oysterhead song…’nuff said. “Gunman” is the only track that stands out as being the most Gothic; sounding like a cross between The Horrors and David Bowie on steroids. “Interlude With Ludes” sounds the way it’s titled with it’s slow-drunken-out-of-beat-sway. Overall, the rest of the album has QOTSA written all over it with some strange eeriness in the changes of the songs and some of it’s atmosphere harking resemblances to Led Zeppelin albums post per se Led Zeppelin IV through Presence (esp. the eerie organ on “Caligulove“).

I was excited at the prospect of the group making an awesome album, I was even more excited when I heard it. Utter Brilliance.
I was lucky enough to see them at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh in Dec09 and now looking forward to flying out to see them in Las Vegas.
I hope they make another album and continue this project as the music is the best I have heard.
Warsaw and Daffodils are simply brilliant........Get it.

It's pretty funny looking at my itunes song play count, and low and behold, Them Crooked Vultures are at like 60 plays vs my average 10-15plays for other artists, who i might add i've had for years! but i do have many. still funny. TCV ROCK!

Absolutely love the album!
I love the old time feel it has and the amazing performing and writting involved.
Sure, the fact that this band is made up of 3 of the biggest music heavyweights is enough to get your attention, the brilliance of the songs is what will keep you hooked!

This album/band is the very definition of NEW FANGS lol!!

probably one of the greatest albums i've ever purchased. keep up the amazing work. i look forward to the next album! i just about came when i heard you were coming to denver...i already bought my ticket! see you at the end of april!!!

Great music guys, been waiting for this ''new'' style a long time now...
can't wait to see you in Montréal in may.....
